How can I make a comic book series about lumberjack superheroes/vigilantes more serious?

I dunno have some big wig from a giant Corporation in some big city come out with some kind of motorized tree cutting gizmo that makes all the lumberjacks obsolete, so they go to the city to convince them not to make it cause all the lumberjacks will lose there jobs and then they have to stay in the city and do battle with the Corporation and their army of motorized minions. Side story could see your heroes outlawed as terrorists of the state and have to go on the run. Dark Savage could be behind the corporation pulling the strings or something.
