What does this prophetic verse mean to you?

Isaiah was a man God chose to go to the divided kingdoms of Israel and tell them of God's impending judgment. He did just that and tells them why God will judge them, how God will judge them, and even tells them how horrible the judgment will be. He's describing their rebellion against the Lord and their wickedness in self-satisfaction, and desire to hear soft sop lies (kinda like the liberals....sorry, but I couldn't resist that one). The state of spiritual rebellion at the time of Isaiah was pretty much like the state of America and the world today. Isaiah's prophesies are relevant to the times he lived in as well as the world's future. Any of his prophesies can be applied both to the history of Israel (because his predictions came true then) as well as what will happen in the day of the Lord in our future. You didn't quote one of the most important scriptures telling that their will be a remnant of faithful, who will endure the judgment and will be restored completely. This "remnant" is prevalent throughout the whole Bible and is one of the most important promises of God to Israel and to the believing gentiles.
