Which is more abrasion resistant, ies or Jeans?

I'm going to wear armor underneath my pants when I ride my motorcycle, but I was just curious because there are times when I go out with just the pants I'm wearing for quick trips. Jeans usually have thicker/heaver fabric, but ies always seem to hold up better at work. Just wondering the general opinion. And for the record I know I should wear motorcycle specific pants made out of proper materials, but sometimes I don't want to have to completely change my clothes to go out for a 15 minute ride.
